For the last few days I’ve been furiously sanding these Grödnertal inspired Maggies. There will be around 20 of them! Some Ballet dancers and also some Flapper dancers too!

For the last few days I’ve been furiously sanding these Grödnertal inspired Maggies. There will be around 20 of them! Some Ballet dancers and also some Flapper dancers too!

She’s been successfully cleaned, woth the utmost care to preserve the gofun polish and color. No more soot and grime and her hair is brushed and shiny again. She’s right out the onsen!
Now, to get her a lovely kimono!

While I’m trapped in yet another session of sanding parts, I decided to take a break and restore this pair of antique doll boots.
They were crushed at the tips, severely dehydrated leather and the copper eyelets were rusted inside.

Little Ciruela’s dress is complete!! She borrowed a wig for the pictures, because she will have long and curly hair. When her wig is completed, we’ll see if she needs a headress too~

Here’s how it’s going! I found a really cute cotton lace and made sleeves and skirt with it. I still need to sew the closure but she’ll have a little train with a red bow.

How hard it is to acknowledge your place in the world? When I found out my call was to make dolls, it wasn’t a pleasant surprise. It’s not an easy job if it’s to feed you and pay the bills. Most people have it as a hobby for a reason. But, when you’re not good for anything else, it becomes tricky.
