I love our school bus too. The driver is soo good. He waits and makes sure the kids make it safely across the street towards our house before turning off the red lights and putting down the paddle. Also I don't have to deal with the shirtshow of school pickup and dropoff.

Oooh yeah if it's immature it could be looking for a territory too.

Yeah, that's my best guess as well. I just don't see them often. Maybe they are just better at keeping a low profile than the bald eagles.

Mostly we see bald eagles and the smaller Cooper’s/Sharp-Shinned hawks around here. There was an owl hooting around but haven’t heard them for over a year.

The neighborhood crows were pissed and swooping it, which is why I noticed it.

It’s fuzzy, he’s 11 now, but I think he used to lay on the ground and refuse to move when we put those on him? Kid only had two speeds, run or resist. I was REALLY good at getting him in a carrier on my back in these instances, which was akin to wrangling an angry wolverine onto my back.

Just saying I guess, even when you do ALL THE THINGS RIGHT places where kids are more likely to exist, such as near parks and schools, need to be designed so that even if a 2-year-old darts into the street THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. Slow the fucking cars down.

This is actually a big part of my family biking origin story! Walking places with him was terrifying! He also screamed in the car. Loved riding on the bike. Can't escape when strapped into a Yepp Seat.

Oh no! Sending good thoughts.

I feel this so hard!!! Especially when you find out so many people are signing kids up for supplementary learning stuff you can't afford.
