Read the room, SPS. The whole town is sick of this shit. Sometimes a monster is actually a monster and deserves the pitchforks. People who harm children are monsters and the people who protect them are too. ESPECIALLY when their JOB is to keep children safe. www.seattletimes.com/education-la...

What raptor (bird) has a big white belly around here? Its belly seemed too light colored for a Cooper’s, and too big in size. Definitely think it had a hawk shape not an owl shape when it flew off. Osprey doesn’t seem big enough. I don’t see red-tailed hawks in the city much. We’re nearish Carkeek.

Same raw data used, but check out the different presentation between the 2021 report and now.

Here is SPS' map of where these affordable multifamily projects have either been recently built (blue) or are planned (red). Interesting to note where they are being built versus where they are not.

We've talked about this table before! The Flo Analytics report showed that income restricted 2-BR multifamily units produced the most children (0.401). The report concludes since we're not building a lot of that, not much will change.

Aurora alert! From my street, so not the best, but COOL!

Oh you're right. there are a couple outlets on the west side, completely different from the original drainage flow!

It may not drain anywhere significant now. They lowered the level of the lake to make Green Lake Blvd, so it may just not connect. From the SPU map, it looks now like the majority of the Licton Springs water gets piped around the lake then under Ravenna:

They are overdue to update the Facilities Master Plan according to the cadence set in the last plan.

I was wondering about regional variation in rainfall over the recent storms. SeaTac Airport (South of Seattle), Boeing Field (S. Seattle), Univ WA (N. Seattle), Paine Field (Everett) rainfall accumulation over the past week. From www-k12.atmos.washington.edu/k12/grayskie...

The Power BI maps turnout, for anyone's interest. Obviously the threshold for what is considered higher turnout is a bit of a lowball though, heh. As someone who makes a lot of maps, picking the the scale for a choropleth map is hard!

A diagram. Water comes down the streets on the steep slope to the west trying to follow its natural drainage to Pipers Creek. In between the slope and the creek is that low point where 8th goes under Holman. NOBODY COULD HAVE PREDICTED...

I know most of the city is watching the mayor race (I still have hope for Katie!), but we're watching the Smith/Clark race. Smith's lead narrowed a bit after this batch. So, it will be interesting to see if that trend continues, and whether the later ballots go Clark's way or Smith's.

She’s really suffering right now.

Here's the School Board races. Congrats Jen LaVallee! I felt like that was the race no one really had any idea about! Still holding out hope for Sarah Clark, and of course congrats to @joemiz.bsky.social and @viviansong.bsky.social !!!

We're at 30.72%! Big jump since I last checked when it was just under 25%.

I'm a little hopeful because my Thursday 4pm ballot hasn't been counted yet. At least I know it's been received now.
