Historian Rutger Bregman is a well-respected proponent of a universal basic income. The Guardian has called him “the Dutch wunderkind of new ideas.”

The BBC invited Bregman to give this year’s Reith Lecture series.

Before airing, the BBC removed one sentence from his lecture, “A Time of Monsters.”

Daily reminder. You have a sexual predator in the WH. Hold him and everyone involved accountable.

The survivors deserve justice.
The public deserves answers.
The predators deserve consequences.

Stand with survivors, not perpetrators.

My dad served in the Royal Navy during WWII. He was a Navigator. In May 1945 he was stationed in Loch Eriboll, Scotland receiving the surrendering U-Boats. As one German Captain disembarked he turned to my father and said “I suggest you look after this boat as we’ll need it to fight the Russians”.

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

“Why are you banging your head against the wall?” asked Frog.

“I hope that if I bang my head against the wall, it will help me to think of a story,” said Toad.

Remember the time Obama personally caught a fainting woman during his speech — rather than just blankly staring like a sociopath?

Character isn't something you tell people about.

It's something you live.

Meanwhile in England!
Thousands packed the narrow streets of the English town of Ottery St. Mary to witness the tradition of tar barrel rolling. Louise Snow is a barreler who carried flaming barrels of tar through crowds as part of a centuries-old custom handed down through generations.

Home is where the heart is, and mine is in Alba #Scotland! I finally I get to spend some time at home and there is no greater welcome than this! A wise man once said “No matter where I travel in the world, there is no nicer view than from home”, and I could not agree more! H
