Much like last season, Kapanen continues to struggle at creating chances on offense and preventing on defense. The reality is the Canadiens don't have a 2nd line center for Demidov, but I don't think Kapanen is the correct choice.
It's early, we'll see.

Noah Dobson and Mike Matheson are quietly having a solid start to the season at even strength.
That said, we're also seeing a replica of last season with the Hutson-Guhle pairing. 21 & 48 don't have the best chemistry and should be split, imo.

The Canadiens weren’t at their best tonight. They left a lot on the table.
That said, when not playing your best still results in slightly outplaying a playoff-bound Leafs team on the road, I think it’s a sign of good things to come. I didn’t mind the loss at all.

Anže Kopitar says he's gonna retire after this season. You can see why, I guess; but also as a stats nerd I feel like even the years of "he's better than you think he is" bludgeoning didn't quite give us the message. He is/was VERY good for a VERY long time.
