The future is looking very bright for the Habs, but there are still going to be some growing pains in front of a more demanding fanbase.

My column on the Canadiens' goaltending situation. While Martin St. Louis says he hasn't lost confidence in Samuel Montembeault, it's time to give Jakub Dobes a shot at the No. 1 job. Dobes will be in goal Thursday vs. Dallas Stars at Bell Centre #Habs: montrealgazette.com/sports/hocke...
Cowan: Dobes deserves a shot to be Canadiens’ No. 1 goalie
With Montreal nearing the quarter-mark of the NHL season atop the Atlantic Division, it's time to start riding the hot netminder.

My column on what was a good night at the Bell Centre for four former Canadiens as the Los Angeles Kings beat the #Habs 5-1. It was a bad night for the Canadiens - especially Samuel Montembeault and Juraj Slafkovsky: montrealgazette.com/sports/hocke...
Cowan: A good night for former Canadiens as Kings win 5-1 at Bell Centre
It wasn't a good night for Habs goalie Samuel Montembeault or Juraj Slafkovsky, who was replaced by Ivan Demidov on No. 1 line.

My column on Noah Dobson being a great fit with Canadiens as Mike Matheson’s new defence partner:
Cowan: Canadiens' Noah Dobson, Mike Matheson forging blue line bond
At age 31, Matheson might be playing the best hockey of his 11-year NHL career with new teammate Dobson as his partner.
