I can’t do Last Week Tonight anymore. I care very deeply about John Oliver’s well-being and our idiocy is torturing him. I can’t continue to watch the pain and disappointment in this sweet man’s eyes.

Ten days of wondering if the new administration is going to ask us to move or if they’re going to shitcan my spouse or both, and honestly it feels like it’s been ten months.

@nytimes.com they’re not, for the love of your copy and FC departments please fix this language. It’s not a payout if you’re expected to work the next eight months and then depart without severance. It’s literally just deferred shitcanning.

So are we all panic buying coffee or nah?

@jaymesmansfield.bsky.social what’s the best cheap wig to buy for, say, Karen-ing ~las migras~ while holding a giant Stanley cup and pointing an iPhone camera? A big dumb hat could be involved too

I feel like I’m going to crack in half.

Anyway, here’s a picture of some ravens in the Trader Joe’s parking lot

It’s, like, truly difficult to get into fantasy writing this week 🫤

Mountains are incredibly important in my fantasy wip, and this is what I’ve got in my backyard: the Sangre de Cristos, in the New Mexico Rockies

Hi, I’m Aleta and I’ve been writing new scenes as I claw thru my adult fantasy manuscript revise.

Plot: A widow returns home to help her family set the course of their island’s future, but disaster forces her to put politics aside and confront a celestial serpent bent on devouring the world.
Hello #WeeknightWriters! Come on in, introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your writing week is going! Or not going, that's valid too

Today we’re oscillating wildly between crippling anxiety that this manuscript revision is going to fail, and utter delight at how brilliantly it’s going

I need the #makeup and #skincare and #beauty fiends to share the bedtime lip balm they’re using.

I’ve got the RMS Lipnights, the chamomile scent really really hits the spot and the formula feels like it’s doing good work through the night.

This article is fascinating for a lot of reasons but the main thing I’ve gotten from it is that I’m definitely not querying my fantasy wip manuscript as romantasy because the tropes are slim to nil

Did a Best-Selling Romantasy Novelist Steal Another Writer’s Story?
Tracy Wolff, the author of the “Crave” series, is being sued for copyright infringement. But romantasy’s reliance on standardized tropes makes proving plot theft tricky.

Wait so in Encanto, Mirabel asks for a miracle and things proceed to be kind of the opposite of a miracle until Casa is rebuilt…. so did the first Encanto have to end so that Mirabel could have her own Encanto? Encantos are non transferable?
