These guys are great! I donate every year and may I suggest that some of the crafts they sell on behalf of the elders make great Christmas presents?
Time once again to rep my favorite place for giving: anelder.org - they supply food, firewood and supplies for traditional crafting to Navajo Elders. If you have the cash, please give these folks a hand.

Q: Do food expiration dates really matter?

A: Yes, but interpreting them can be complicated.

In the U.S., there are roughly 50 variations of date labels, including “use by,” “sell by,” and “packaged on." All of them can imply different things, and requirements vary between states.

I beg of you, nonfiction writers, breathe life into your prose! Ignore the professor in your brain that's always ready to mark something as too colloquial. Make it read like something written by an actual human you might want to talk to at a party!

This sounds amazing. Gotta add to my list.
had quite possibly the best egg tarts of my life at Sun Moon Studio in Oakland. savory (seasoned with dashi), topped with salmon roe, and nestled in perfectly crisp tart shells. 11/10

Today would have marked 52 years of Roe as the law of the land. But Donald Trump packed the Supreme Court with anti-abortion extremists to get it overturned.

This week, he cut off access to reproductiverights.gov.

We must keep fighting for women’s rights.

probably worth remembering that most of Trump's executive orders will be symbolic, not-legally-enforceable bullshit and you should:

- follow non-sensationalist sources for analysis
- wait to panic until things shake out a bit

I could not agree more.
Not everyone can fight Trumpism and Trumpists directly. But remember this: kindness, decency, and fidelity to American values are defiance in the face of Trumpism.

So be kind, decent, and faithful, particularly to the many kinds of people despised and attacked by Trumpists. That’s revolutionary./1

Awesome banana bread recipe. Last week I made one adding 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup dried cranberries. Just so good.

Ran into my friend at In-N-Out. Their kid was dressed as Batman & was carrying a library book.

Kid walked up to me, took a deep breath & said, “I’M BATMAN.” I don’t claim to know Batman, so I have no choice but to believe that was indeed Batman!

LOVE that Batman carries around library books
