Addendum: Netflix doesn't actually OWN anything yet. Deal still needs to be approved and all the processes vetted, etc.

Keep falling for the same "It's a done deal" marketing the outlets are pushing, but nothing's gonna be decided for a couple of years at this juncture.

It'd be a lot of work, but then they're entering onto the stage as one of the Big Few™️now and if they don't innovate as well as appease the old ways, this could just be a crash and burn waiting to happen.

A truly hybrid stream/theatre experience would not only allow for multi-format viewing choices, but also sharing out to whoever might be willing to pay for their works to appear in those theatres.

Festival circuits, private viewings, re-releases of older efforts, w/ the distribution options there.

The metrics on this would be weird, but with ownership and Netflix exclusives only available in Netflix theatres for a few weeks/a month, that turns into at home productions after that period while the Theatres move onto the next major releases.

Theatre experience is pretty scattered these days, but having theatres that showcase exclusive works from the (now significantly larger) Netflix library first, with a brief turn around for at home viewing would be a novel way to showcase while buying into the current system.
