In light of a certain bigoted, unhinged author deciding to make them the newest target of her contempt, I'd just like to say that the asexual community is absolutely wonderful. Their flourishing is our flourishing, and they are an essential part of queer community.

I observed some of the discourse on the *other place* and I am just trying to understand people who act entitled to an Ivy league acceptance, and act persecuted if it doesn't happen.
Do they know normal people?
Do they look up to anyone?
Have they met people smarter than themselves?

When I was doing my undergrad, liberation theology was spoken of with respect, but also skepticism and distrust as vaguely unorthodox.
Now I'm in seminary, and IDK man, it all just seems kinda correct. Like, that's just what the Bible says. Maybe I haven't got to the hard parts yet?

When I was doing my undergrad, liberation theology was spoken of with respect, but also skepticism and distrust as vaguely unorthodox.
Now I'm in seminary, and IDK man, it all just seems kinda correct. Like, that's just what the Bible says. Maybe I haven't got to the hard parts yet?

I am increasingly coming to understand that part of the reason that I reacted so forcefully to Trump, the New Right, etc, is that I had already seen the poor fruit of the "Reclaim Masculinity" idea in the YRR world. Focusing on men and manhood in A29 church plants did not lead to healthy community.

Experienced lectionary preachers: tell me about Palm Sunday/sixth sunday after lent. Is it liturgy of the Passion or Liturgy of the Palms for you? If the palms, do you use the readings from Psalm 118 on both this sunday and Easter?

Over on the FB, it is really amazing to me that there are people who think STD prevention is somehow morally lax or permissive. Just think about this: what you are saying is that if your child makes a single "mistake", in 10 or 20 years, the just punishment is horrible disease.

Today I learned that the Christian king of the Congo, in 1526, sent a letter to his brother in Christ the king of Portugal BEGGING him to stop allowing Portuguese merchants to take African slaves. He asked instead of merchants to send more priests, and flour and wine for the Eucharist.
