Example: you can teach an AI program what a silhouette of a certain airplane might look like from above. Then you can use it to find all examples of that plane in historical satellite images. It's reasonably good at that, but a human still has to look at the results and determine accuracy.

All it can do is identify and reproduce patterns. One end learns patterns, the other end spits them out. This kind of program can do a lot of cool shit in the right hands.

What it cannot do, however, is produce art. Nor can it contemplate, reason, or make leaps of logic.
