Just listened to ‘day nineteen’ of when the moon hits your eye by @scalzi.com , read by @wilwheaton.net which is the slack discussion. Possibly the most entertaining, funny and heartwarming 19 minutes of audiobook ever!

This year has been a challenge like none I have experienced before, my mum's dementia and the suffering it is bringing to her and the whole family. I am grateful for the support I get from family and friends (and the NHS in the UK)
I'm having a rough go of it lately, and have been thinking: everyone is going through something, and you have no idea what it is, or how it's affecting them.

Quote post this is if you're going through something, and maybe we'll all realize that we aren't as alone as we feel right now.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social dispels the 'blatant lie' that the new trade deal will make Indian workers 'better off' than British workers.

It's taken me *checks notes* three times to feel like I'm over-promoting my podcast, driving away followers, doing it all wrong, and generally sucking at life.

So, according to people I trust, and asked for advice, I have a long way to go before I'm overdoing it.

Oh! A hashtag! #podcast

Incredible.

I love Ian Hislop but it’s worth noting that most of us would balk at the prospect of publicly admonishing a wrongdoer whose conduct you condemn in this way. I did it once to the UKIP/Reform/Brexit twerp Richard Tice but that took exactly zero guts.
This is speaking truth to actual power…
