I honestly thought I was going to finish this month without finishing a single book. It only takes one good book to get out of a reading slump and for me it was Renan Bernardo's latest book that jumpstarted my interest in reading again! That said, I did most of my reading in the last week of April.

I was so delighted to read an #ARC of one of my most anticipated books of the year and let me tell you: It did not disappoint!Do you like space? Do you like horror? Do you like SPACE HORROR? Get yourself this book!

This march I did something I told myself I'd never do and reread "City of Ember" a book that meant so much to me as a kid I was afraid it wouldn't hold up as an adult. Fortunately it did and I finally read the sequel!

I absolutely love how @talltaletv.bsky.social brought my story to life with this dramatic reading of "Who Answers My Call?" A big thanks to Chris Herron!

Wow this was the best reading month I've had in a long time! I can't believe I read 11 books! Two of which were contributor copies of anthologies I was in that came out last month (see Dangerous to Go Alone! 2 and Chronos 2). (Tiles, authors and notes in comments)

Dating while being an unwitting time traveler makes things confusing to say the least. Check out my drabble "Relationship Status: It's Complicated" in this collection of time themed drabbles, now available!!

Thanks to @shackleboundbooks.bsky.social for putting this together!

Some particular standouts to my taste: "The Halloween Girl of Coldsprings" by J. Tonzelli "Camera Obscura" by @jonahbuck.bsky.social "Her Own Terms" by B.K. Loomis and "Daddy's Girl" by @valwillwrite.bsky.social

Started "NightBitch" yesterday and I can't put it down! Despite not being a mother, the feminine rage of this book speaks to me. Idk what you call this genre, but I'm really into books like this where the main character is a woman driven to a level of madness under the high pressures of society.

My current top 50 science fiction reads I'd recommend in a heartbeat! I can't wait to see how this list expands and alters as I continue my reading journey over the course of my life.Which ones have you read?

Which books am I missing that I should read next?

I now see why this is regarded as a ground breaking game. Truly a unique fantasy with it's worldbuilding and gameplay. It's reputation as one of the hardest games made holds true, but worthwhile and rewarding.

I enjoy fast pace leading to split second decisions. I also appreciate the puzzle elements in an otherwise first person shooter game.

I will never write space travel the same after playing this and experiencing the difficulty of manual spaceflight. This is a time-loop archeological game where the goal is to learn as much as possible before the loop resets. I love the soundtrack, the unique planets and alien technology.

I was left wanting more. Some elements felt tedious. The universe felt small. I enjoyed the different factions and conflicting ideas and beliefs. Space opera tends to lump all humans together. I don't think space would make humans more unified than they are in our own time confined to one planet.

In this cyberpunk game you play as a cat in a city populated by robots! The world and story are lush, with a great soundtrack and gorgeous level and character design. The cat protag is not reduced to a gimmick, but works well as a silent protagonist and outsider interloping on someone else's story.
