I like games, books, and the outdoors. Huge TTRPG fan. Used to be really fit but now rocking a dad bod. Doing the best I can in this world. Sharing this life with my wife, our baby girl, two sweet dogs, and a cat that wishes she was still an only child.

This is what Musk and DOGE have *actually* tried to do:

-- Kill USAID (investigating Starlink)
-- Kill CFPB (regulator for X to be payment app)
-- Move $2.3 BILLION contract from Verizon to Starlink
-- Force Social Security Administration to use X exclusively

100% CORRUPTION

@mluckovich.bsky.social is one of the greatest political cartoonists of all time. Thank you for 3 decades of scathing satire, remarkable insight and helping us all laugh to avoid weeping openly. 🙏

Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, ACA, VA all on the chopping block.

Trump was never going to make anyone in America's life easier. In just 2 weeks he's made life harder for everyone except his billionaire friends.

It does seem misinformation or (almost intentional) ignorance is a major contributor. It doesn't excuse them, but we can hope they'll see reality. Maybe that is just copium 🤷
I hold a lot of disdain for the people who didn’t see this coming given P2025 but it does seem like the actual support for these goals is nonexistent, everyone who voted for him did so under the incredibly stupid assumption that he wouldn’t do this

It blows my mind how all of those Greek statues were once real, living people. So much history would have been lost to us without those three incorrigible Gorgons, and I’m so grateful for them

There are many others missing on this list, notably Apple and REI. It's good to track the companies supporting DEI, but I find it hard when many of these companies donated heavily to the current admin (looking at you TJ Maxx group, Meijer, and Kroger).
How do you make your choice where to shop?
Updated list of companies committed to DEI

Costco, Meijer, Kroger, Giant Grocery, Ben & Jerry’s, Ulta, Macy’s, Old Navy, Nordstrom’s, TJ Maxx, GoTo Foods (includes Moe’s Southwest Grill, Mcalister’s, Auntie Anne’s, Jamba, Cinnabon, and more…), Dollar Tree, Walgreens, Wegmans

MC has had a few posts I agree with; this is not one. The federal government is not a business and should not be treated as such. Crazy I know. But reality. DOGE is a puppet organization to push their agenda and deserves no wins, not that I believe they would be willing to work with NIH anyways.
Trump is doing what you do after you acquire a company. Crazy I know. But reality. The Dir of NIH should reach out to DOGE and offer to bring them in to remove inefficiencies.

There are always some and the Director know what they are.

DOGE gets a win. NIH gets back to work.

-Sigh- There goes another one. It might be impossible to have ethical consumption in a capitalist society, but at least we can try to stay informed and make the best choices possible.

So much for making eggs affordable. So many of the people who were belligerently supportive of Trump will be the ones hurt. They deserve every bit of what is coming to them. I feel terrible for the people who fought against his reelection that are going to be devastated though.
The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect
Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.
