Bohoohoo! Farmers on @skynewsrss.bsky.social crying about inheritance tax. When you're dead, you don't need your land or your money. Anything that you give to your children is a bonus for them. They don't even need to lift a finger to get inheritance.

The government will "force all secondaries to offer triple science GCSE".

Great. Just what the science education profession needs, more pressure to teach more content. Just why? It's not at all necessary for students to take triple science...

📱 More screen time, higher health risk in youth

A study of 1,000+ children found each extra daily hour of screen time raised heart and metabolic disease risk, especially with less sleep.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Please can we strike like the train operators do? Significant strikes for a real long-term difference to education.
NEU Members distinctly unimpressed with the Labour government's pay offer: below the recommended level & UNFUNDED, so it's effectively a cut for schools:

Do you accept or reject the government’s recommendation of an unfunded 2.8 per cent pay rise?

ACCEPT: 6.3 per cent
REJECT: 93.7 per cent

Donald Trump pausing tariffs is clearly a stunt to earn his rich friends more money:

1. Crash the stock market.
2. Get your millionaire friends to invest in crashed stocks.
3. Pause the tariffs and allow the stocks to recover earnings the millionaires more millions.
4. Repeat

#uked I'm wondering - has anyone ever gotten a parent to come into school and watch their misbehaving kid in class?

Can we please have a higher character limit on #BSky?

300 seems too small.

Had a conversation with a parent today, where they wanted to know why their child wasn't predicted a Grade 9, when they are only currently working at a Grade 4. I fed back details about the child's silly behaviour in class, but this wasn't acceptable to the parents and they hung up the phone!!

Someone inherits £1million in 1980. Buys 30 homes in London at £30,000 each (900K spent, 100K banked).

Each property earns the buyer rent, and rent goes up in price every few years.

By 2020, the properties are now each worth 500,000, and the owner sells them, making a profit of 14 million...

Marking a bunch of Y10 Test Papers at the minute. I can't read 1/4 answers!

Instead of the bizarre KS3 English SATs, can students please be assessed on the legibility of their handwriting before entering secondary school? It would really save me a lot of time marking. Thanks
