Cycling, music, political and other random ramblings. Work: computer scientist/language tester/psychometrican in some order. Once drew trees and was told it was "better than felling them", which is a start, I guess.

Views my own; cat photos will happen.

This is Hněvín Castle – a picturesque little Czech castle atop a hill, poking out above a sea of clouds. But what fairytale village lies beneath those clouds – are you perhaps already packing your bags to visit? If so, hold on for one moment before you do, for this is The Most 🧵. It will be long. 1/
This could end up backfiring both spectacularly and hilariously for the right-wing coup-mongers - Davie gone, Gibb (ad more?) to follow?

Sources say Robbie Gibb amplified criticisms of Trump, Gaza and trans rights coverage, and had ‘a lot of oxygen in the room’

Architecture feature! Nice strain stations! I've only been to five of these:

King's Cross (best concourse)
St Pancras (best hotel)
Gare du Nord (grandest)
Helsinki (best clock tower and art deco vibes)
Hungerburg (best view and wavy roof)
The 42 most beautiful train stations in the world
Take time to enjoy the journey at these awe-inspiring stations.

We need to see a Venn diagram of Liverpool fans who loudly condemned Trent Alexander-Arnold for a lack of loyalty and Liverpool fans who are now loudly demanding that Mohamed Salah is sold because they don't think he's useful any more.

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

I wish to add my hot take to the many I am seeing in response to this: I have no opinion whatsoever on this quote from Zack Polanski without seeing its cotext and broader context.

Yes, "Labour has to convince young people it is 'modern party of the future'" - but it can either do that or it can continue trying to appeal to reactionary, regressive, authoritarian Reform voters. It's a straightforward choice between the two, and the current evidence is not promising.

Growing up were there any moments in movies that traumatised you?

The Childcatcher as per down the thread (pretty universally, I guess), obvs - but this one, which was in one of only a handful of films I actually saw in the cinema, was the one that really haunted me. Truly the stuff of nightmares.

Sadly for me, I discovered that with the lights out, it was in fact more dangerous.
I must confirm that I am not a bitch. Nor am I a lover. I am in no way a child. Definitely not a mother. Not a sinner, not a saint. Feeling a bit ashamed tbh.
I must confirm that when I get knocked down, I do *not* get up again, and you are in fact going to keeo me down.

t turns out that barely a handful of English folk Llan-dudno how to pronounce Welsh names well enough to make a pun.
I've just heard about my hundredth Care-philly since the election. Come on English dudes, we can pronounce Leicester and Worcester and unlike Caerfili, they're not even spelled phonetically!
"Caer" rhymes with fire. Hth.

"That sandwich hasn't exploded at all, has it?" defense asks.

"It looks like a little bit is coming out towards the bottom," Lairmore replies.
