My sadness over Todd Snider passing away is slowly overtaking the joyful memories I have of his music and friends I made through that. It’ll be there on the other side but man, this sucks. #ToddSniderRules

This show is so, so great. Elliott Gould in LAST GOODBYE with some THE NICE GUYS vibes but, you know, extremely Oklahoma.
1. Watch The Lowdown, one of the best shows I've seen in quite some time.
2. Read Kathryn on The Lowdown, one of the best TV columns I've read in quite some time.
3. Profit.
wrote an essay about the lowdown, and how it can be hard to think about drama at a time when there never seem to be consequences for bad guys, and how the lowdown offers us a way out

After some discussion with Jene, I'm finally posting a Gofundme to help us with Sandwiches' vet bills. Our baby has been having more bad days lately so we have to start thinking about at-home euthanasia. Any help would be greatly appreciated: www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-pa...

Look, I truly love Taylor Swift but her new feature length commercial for her new album knocking ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER off IMAX is some bullllshit.

In what is finally a GOOD “I didn’t have that on my 2025 Bingo card” moment, that Mike Patton/Avett Brothers single is pretty great!! Can’t wait for the album!!

Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today

Plus, his films have ALWAYS been with me my entire life. So glad his last “real” role (non-Avengers) was with my friend, David Lowery. Full circle for me and THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN is a slept upon gem of a movie. 💗

Waking up to news of Robert Redford has passed isn’t a great start to the day but, his actions in life with starting Sundance literally changed my life. That festival spawned my entire adult life’s passion, friendships and creative outlets.

That movie was/is beyond unfairly maligned. It’s a frigging children’s fairy tale and worse, all of a sudden every dim bulb blogger suddenly came out as a Manny Farber stan. Gimmie a break.
Revisited LADY IN THE WATER tonight, and it affected me in ways it never had before. So many of Shyamalan's films center around communities coming together. Good triumphs over evil when good stands together. We all have our parts to play.

Just got out of WEAPONS, second time. What a truly great film. Lives in the common horror tropes, makes them different and also has so, so much going on in and around it. Love this movie.
