Gosh you're right! Just checked my RWS collection book, and yeah - I'm surprised Awdry characterised Toby like that.
Still, I think it got much worse with Toby as T&F went on.

I just hope Bluesky avoids AI in everything.
No offence to Twitter users, but aside from the (currently) greater number of users and not wanting to lose contact, I'm struggling to see a good reason for staying on Twitter.
