BREAKING: By an apparent 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court halts an injunction that had prevented immigration agents from racially profiling Latinos in central California.

Sotomayor, dissenting, says the decision is "unconscionably irreconcilable with our nation's constitutional guarantees."

Yall wanna hear something extremely embarrassing? Before Trump’s election, a bunch of academics who lumbered rightward after being criticized by the left (Pinker, Dawkins, Krauss) wrote essays for a book that is coming out in July about the threats to academia from the left.

YALL, THE TITLE!!

Thus we see a statement that "biological differences" require "sex-specific practices" in medicine which will, I predict, be broadly used to enforce gendered practices of all kinds under the banner of "health".

This is the topsy-turvy place that this definition takes us to, where a hypothetical (and in practice undecideable) purpose of the body can be deemed to be "objective biology" whereas the actual physical state of a body is declared irrelevant.

The definition of sex put forwarded on this page, however, thinks that biological structures inherently have purposes.

Thus it stipulates that even if a body does not function to produce gametes, it *ought* to.

This is, at core, scientifically illiterate...

... which was the central insight that Darwin had.

There is no design in biology. Evolution is blind, and does not design towards goals: there is no teleology in biology.

When we say an organ has a function, what we are characterizing is simply what it *does*, not what it is *supposed* to do...

by the way, the claim that pronouns are "sex-based" and "biological" is no more credible than claiming "men prefer football and women prefer shopping" is "sex-based" and "biological." language is social: the claim about pronouns is no less a gender norm.
