there are two kinds of writers:

those who write pages of bantering dialogue and realize they didn't describe anything in the scene

and those who write pages of detailed description and realize no one's spoken for eight pages

I’m convinced the “do audiobooks count as reading?” argument all derives from those mid-90s summer reading pizza challenges.

Folks - we’re all in our 30s and 40s now. It’s no longer a competition.

Go buy your favorite pie with your adult money and let people enjoy books however they want.

There's a lot of folks I follow who are editors or physical media producers whose job involves commissioning film critics every single day. You have the power to hire trans critics, of whom there are many; and remember, trans critics can also write/talk about things that aren't related to transness!
A lot of chatter about trans bathroom bills on ~this day~ but no one writing about Susan Stryker's radical reimagining of bathrooms, disability access, the North Carolina bills + their failure to pass masture less than a decade ago. Go read a book. Go buy a trans person food. Go hire someone trans.

Ashley was top baby name the year I was born. There was always at least two-three Ashley’s in a class. I’m honestly surprised I didn’t have to add numbers onto my name here. I figured there would already be an Ash or 12!
Explain your username...

It's my name with a greeting in front of it. And it rhymes.

Okay, bit more of an explanation: I had a *very* emo moniker, but I made the change in my mid 20's, thinking that having something that had such a negative connotation couldn't be good for me. And I was right.
Explain your username…

I was in the local newspaper a lot, while helping to restore our cemetery after it was damaged by vandals, and I became “you’re Maggie from town” to a lot of folks and thus, maggieofthetown was born.
