The new White House budget document goes full tin foil hat. Dishonest and biased. It is embarrassing that this is an official government document.

My new project is based around a community that doesnt know a Helene strength hurricane is headed for them because NOAA was ended by a military dictatorship. Local emergency alert systems were barely able to keep up during last years wildfires. This is vital infrastructure thats being dismantled.

Sharing this video & message from a dear colleague who spent 25+ yrs at NOAA & recently had his last day:

"Today is a tough day. Tomorrow will be better. We all just have to work like hell for it."

The video celebrates these civil servants & the immense loss to society these cuts bring.
Dear NOAA: Thank You

Tulare County is the top ranked county in California in terms of agricultural value, with $8.6 billion in revenue from agriculture in 2022. The leading commodities produced there are milk, oranges, grapes, and cattle, all things that take a good bit of water + that US consumers like to eat + drink.
The carefully managed water systems in California's Central Valley saw a sudden deluge after the Army Corps of Engineers unexpectedly released reservoir water.

This is an crucial point that is too often overlook in fossil fuel phase out convos

Renewables needn’t replace all the coal, oil and gas we use bc most of it is just used to produce and move those fossil fuels around

We need only replace useful energy: 37% of what we currently produce 🤯🧵👇
America's demand for fossil gas is set to increase - no, not for stuff like heating homes or the power grid - but almost entirely due to the fact that sending gas overseas is itself a process that consumes HUGE amounts of gas

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.
