Today Halifax Council voted for a briefing note on reducing our Climate Action Tax by one third. Also today, COP released this statement. Could we be any more on the wrong side of history????

Also, these very smart people in Andy’s comments believe that bike lanes cost them money, but building and maintaining all of our municipal roads is covered by the registration fee they pay for their car 😂😂😂

This is a major bus stop/future BRT bus stop 3 or 4 days after a storm last February. That’s the norm on Herring Cove Road. People will not make the switch from driving to transit if they’re going to be subjected to this.

A large proportion of those deaths seem to be male drivers and passengers between age 15 and age 24, and we’ve had a tragic number of those deaths so far in 2025. It seems to me like maybe we should do something about that?

Glad to see new recommendations from the Child Death Review Committee regarding swimming pools, but there’s nothing new in there that addresses the biggest cause of accidental deaths in the studied age group (1-24)

That’s from this article in the Independent, which doesn’t specifically talk about zoning, more about the difference in the approaches towards homelessness in Finland compared to in Canadian provinces. But the questions it asks could be extrapolated to zoning.

The wording in this development agreement makes it sound like Polycorp has at least 4 more years to finish this building (The Aria at Long Lake) that’s been under construction in Long Lake Village since 2012ish

I wonder how many people get confused trying to find Halifax Water due to the fact that the section of Cowie Hill Road near Peter Saulnier Dr, where Halifax Water is located is still labelled as Penny Ave on Google maps.
