probably unpopular opinion but I think it's actively harmful for everyone to act like the US just has to get through "4 years". it will not be 4 years. it will be foreseeably forever, and people who think regular elections will happen in 2028 will be just as shocked as they were by the 2024 election

I’m reading a (popular, well-reviewed, highly-praised) book with such atrocious worldbuilding that it would be one of those books that I spite-worldbuilt a response to…except I already have to multiple aspects of it, so it just makes me angrier that zero thought was put into this.

well cryptpad was having a subscription sale so I've apparently committed to using it for at least a year. It's been okay so far asides that one hectic crash/access issue were it was clear there's zero tech support

what about character albums instead of just single songs or varied playlists, what if a whole album is their vibe

from 2016-2020 I didn't make any art. It felt mean and small and selfish to make things and ask people to engage with them when we had a constant hellscape nightmare happening at all times. But, the only thing that got me though those years was OTHER people's art, and I didn't see them as selfish

the thing that saddens me most about books that are just slightly better than mediocre is that they REALLY just needs one or two more rounds of editing. that's almost always the problem. just a little more time and care and craft

I love (??) it when a show description of character behaviors/interactions is RADICALLY different than what's actually presented, like would love to know who is in charge of writing deeply incorrect summaries like this, do they even watch the show?

I just want one character to say one word in one of my own fake languages and it takes like an hour to a) find my own notes on how to properly etomologize it, b) update various other notes with the root word I had to create, c) make sure the pronunciation I want matches with my own dang rules
