Among US health care workers, rates of poverty, food insecurity, and housing instability are highest among direct care and support staff, with over 1 in 4 experiencing food insecurity.

Emerging from the darkness of this era will require us to acknowledge that the previous status quo, including many institutions that may have served us well in another era, have been failing for my entire lifetime.

Congressmen who are doing "District Work" instead of being at their job in Washington should be required to be onsite in their District office full time, monitored with productivity metrics. They should complete a weekly report of the Five Things they did to directly serve constituents.

Liberate LA from their elected leaders? Did she really say that???
That Noem said she was there to liberate LA from its elected leaders and then her people attacked a Senator who is responsible for Congressional oversight of what DHS is doing in Los Angeles in his home town and on federal property cannot be left out of this story.

🚨 Secretary Noem basically said that her agency is now dedicated to forcible regime change…in American cities and states.

There 👏🏽 is 👏🏽 a 👏🏽 name 👏🏽 for 👏🏽 this

The most inspiring chapters in our nation's history came when Americans faced down some of our country's darkest demons.

Those moments, like our own, were difficult to live through but also brought the chance to bring out the best in us, with enduring consequences.

Deportations and immigration restrictions could impact the US health care system by removing skilled noncitizen workers, leading to staff shortages and compromised patient care.

Arrived a few days ago at midnight at the airport in Orlando for spring break. They closed terminal B early? I've never seen that, even in low season. Low staff everywhere. Eerily quiet. Easy to park, tables free at restaurants, theme parks not crowded. Sad for workers not getting their hours.

I think America needs some lawyers with deep knowledge of the government and Constitutional Law, who understand Public Health Policy.
Somebody tell the Obamas we need them to suit up.

Every time I see "DEI" I read it as "Disability Employment Initiatives" and fear for every single person who works as supervisors, natural supports, and assistants, in addition to the employees with the disabilities. They participated. They trained. That was not waste or fraud or discrimination.

My son watches some movies multiple times. I now realize, these movies he repeats have a theme. Unlikely heroes fight back and win.

"Yellow Submarine" is a parable for our time... The Blue Meanies have taken over.

Don't let them drain your color. Organize, fight back, be yourselves, and resist.

Dreaming forward. What changes would improve disability support services' bureaucratic processes? Those of us in the midst of it have complained for years that it is a tangled mess of duplicative procedures for determination and funding authorization, and direct services struggle to meet needs.

Unsolicited advice to anyone who has a medical condition or disability, who has any kind of school or job accommodation or uses any assistive technology. If all you had was a verbal agreement with your employer or HR, and the administration changes, your job accommodations could be at risk. 1/2
