100% this. I can't count how many times I've restarted a game just to know it's story. In fact I just restarted my playthrough of horizon zero dawn bc I forgot what was happening in the story on my main file.
I think games (especially RPGs) should have a "Last Time on..." feature where based on how long you put the game down it recounts key moments and maybe some side quests before letting you back into the game. Obvs you can skip, but it would be good to jump back into RPGs you put on pause.
