I love I need to reeeeally be attentive to my finger and the analogue stick, if I want to keep a slow walking pace in Death Stranding. It's developing me a bodily sensation associated with the exploration that is amazing for the immersion!

In this 20th anniversary of Shadow of the Colossus, I want to highlight once again the curious story of how Sam Raimi's Spider-Man soundtrack (and movie in general) influenced this game's demo:
My favorite discovery from this book is that Fumito Ueda went to see Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (apparently as a reference for the "clinging" in Shadow of the Colossus) and immediately afterwards bought the movie's soundtrack to use it in the game's demo. LOL

This is an extremely disappointing statement from Bitmap Books. Their books are extremely high quality with fantastic writing... This recent SNES RPG release has the writing style of a confused 14 year old.
That's not the problem though - the problem sits with the continued support of a racist.

Talking with a friend about our relationship with Symphony of the Night, it made me think of how games are intrinsically genderfluid. Like, it can propose itself as a metroidvania at first, but as games are also what we make them to be, it was transformed into a beat em up experience along the years

I often joke that most video essays should have been blog posts, but this book really reads like a glorified blog post, both in style and tone. I find the phrasing verbose and vapid at the same time. That 1st paragraph abt Chrono Trigger hurts my brain, it's almost unparsable. 550 pages of that...
