I'm alive, I am just not posting here much. My sourdough starter went bad when I neglected her due to depression so she got thrown out... And we are looking at moving this year so I'm packing non-essentials... I'll start a new SD starter in the new house... Whenever that happens.

My mental health crashed and my starter is gone. I'm going to start over when my head is in a better place but that's why I have been silent... That and the state of the US/world right now. I AM learning Chinese for fun.

Had #surgery today (septoplasty) and came out the other side okay. My #sourdough #starter needs tended to but it'll be neglected some for now. I wish I felt up to making bread because I fed it a 1:4:4 to help with keeping it active and strong, which means I have 135g of active starter. 😭

Working on our New Year's Dough... Just pre-shaped the dough and we're letting it rest for a while before final shaping, then cold proof time. My 16y/o has helped me with every step so far. This one is a 71% hydration instead of my normal 78%. What have y'all done for New Year's? #sourdoughsky

So my work has a job accommodation form that ESSENTIALLY says I'll be placed on leave until able to do my job at full capacity if asking to have too many accommodations. I asked for clarification and HR danced around my concern about if I understood this correctly, so obviously, I'm correct and /🧵

I feel like my 8th Loaf came out well but I didn't score well for the pattern and an ear. No crumb shot yet because we're taking this, blind, over to my boyfriend's mom's house for dinner tonight. (That's why it's in a bread bag and uncut)

My ESA has bladder stones. She's about to cost me over 2k in surgical costs I can't REALLY afford, plus an antibiotic, tomorrow morning. I have to put it on a credit card I'm going to immediately max out. I have to do it though... She means the world to me. She's only 4 years old and my best friend.

I think I'm going to make a batch of dough today... And try not to mess it up this time, even though the results were perfect last time. 😅 Here's hoping I can duplicate it by just leaving it the heck alone for a long BF and that's all it needs. 🤞
