This is a fountain to commemorate Georges Cuvier, a great French naturalist considered by some the father of paleontology. At first I thought Georges Cuvier was depicted as a semi-nude woman - a bold choice - but no, she represents Natural History. I'm sure it's what he would have wanted.

Saw some cool old playbills today. Behold Pablo Fanque, the first Black circus owner in Britain! Born 1910 in Norwich, became an acclaimed equestrian, owned a successful circus, had a magnificent moustache.
