excellent paper on cognitive biases, where the authors identify a few fundamental beliefs as building blocks + confirmation bias to explain most biases. i would simplify the framework further into 3 fundamental beliefs - "_ am good", "_ make(s) correct assessments of the world",

He gets a lot of shit for being 100% correct on where to focus time, money and effort on — saw the big picture long before others and acted accordingly. All other causes are downstream of an open society and the rule of law — individual altruism will never have the power of a benevolent government
