Sooo... I found a puppy in a ditch on my way to work in 2019, tweeted about him, went viral, and met a lot of awesome people around the world. Now we're here! How was your day?! ❤️
VERY thankful for the County Highway Crews in Wisconsin today! Lots of holiday travelers on the roads today. The plows are out busting drifts and fighting the wind to keep lanes clear. Be safe out there and slow down! #WIWX ❄️🦺❤️

Since today is the Marine Corps 250th Birthday and 50 years since the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, it's fitting to share a little about this Marine today.

Behind the chaos of the news cycle, thousands of federal employees are quietly off the books today, myself included. It has been an honor to serve you all as a Marine, a veteran, and a federal employee.

To my fellow departing feds, thank you for your service.

To those who remain, we see you. ❤️

This request for information provides an opportunity for the public to submit issues that have an impact on service members and their families where state governments are the primary agents for making positive change.

Heard Andrea Assaf's interview on @wdet.bsky.social this week about her new play coming to Detroit soon. Really caught my attention as a veteran interested in moral injury and the arts.

"The media continues to cover politics as if it is still the 1990s. 'Both parties are basically center-right or center-left parties.' The journalism infrastructure in our country wants to pretend that that’s the world that we live in. The instinct is to treat everything politicians say as valid."

This is a fair and reasonable request from a member of Congress. We should see more messages like this from Reps from both parties.

Vets need and deserve clarity, bi-partisanship and transparency around VA—-now more than ever.
My office has received many calls from veterans worried they will be denied care by the Department of Veterans Affairs because of their political affiliation or marital status. I call on Secretary Doug Collins to provide a full briefing to Congress and release all relevant documents to the public.

That Guardian piece spread online today a few hours before my VA appointment. Seeing this quote on the wall right inside the main door of my clinic sat differently with me. No veteran coming to VA should ever wonder about access to care when they walk through these doors. Ever.

🚨🚨 Trump’s VA just allowed doctors to deny care to Democrats, unmarried Veterans, among other groups.

This isn’t healthcare. It’s political purity tests for people who risked their lives for this country.

It’s unethical, authoritarian, and every one of us should be outraged.

Happy Birthday, Larry! 🎉

#OTD I found him in a ditch on my way to work. He barely weighed 6 pounds and was smaller than my cat. Now, he lives the good life with pizza bones, soft blankets, and a yard to run free in.

Thanks for being on this adventure with us, Larry Lovers! We ❤️ You!
