#SciArt Scientific illustrator Alissa Eckert, after helping create this image & after 17-yrs. of service to the CDC here in the USA was fired. This is not normal; this is corruption. When we take back our country hopefully she'll get her job back. We're protesting everyday now, won't be much longer.

Missed #frogfriday. #salamandersaturday🐍Pics from a site we've been monitoring for ~50-yrs. & venison hotdogs w/ homemade bread & a can of cheese sauce w/ peppers. Jefferson's & spotted salamanders (red-spotted newts & marbled salamanders too). Wood turtles use these pools to hibernate. Orchids.

#frogfriday ! Phyllobates sp. Copyright in pic. There are ~7 species in Colombia, one in Mesoamerica, some undescribed or not in synonymy in Colombia (my favorite country along with Venezuela . I am entirely unsure what this is. It is likely one of the most toxic vertebrates on Earth. Enjoy!
