Happy #FieldworkFriday! As we trudge through fall and approach winter the field team finds themselves fighting against the sunset. Add in the 1hr loss of light from Daylight Savings Time last weekend and we know we’re not the only folks working in the twilight hours.

DYK the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network is managed jointly by UO, UW, and USGS? Together we operate 700+ seismic monitoring stations! #FieldWorkFriday

Field technicians from OHAZ and UW recently teamed up to upgrade VLM, a @pnsn1.bsky.social site NW of Mt. Hood. Team work makes the dream work! 🦆🐾

Happy #fieldworkfriday and Happy Halloween! Still picking out a costume? Check out some suggestions modeled by our talented PNSN field staff. Maybe a soggy construction worker? A peak-obsessed helicopter pilot? A granola backcountry hiker?

🍃 We’re sharing our love of fieldwork each week with a different resource! This #FieldworkFriday offers a creative challenge that teaches children about the anatomy of a beetle.

🌊🦠#FieldworkFriday!
C-CoMP focuses on microbes & chemicals, so it is easy for us to forget how vast our ocean is 🌊. Being at sea 🚢 is the loveliest reminder - there’s nothing as wondrous or humbling as floating in endless cerulean blue while receiving rare visits from animals🐦!

Happy #FieldworkFriday! Last week was packed! But despite a full week of monitoring @Mariners.com games to the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill, our field team still headed out. These cows at PASS didn't know a thing about the Mariners or ShakeOut, but were glad we came for a visit.

We just added two new wildfire cameras in the Columbia River Gorge! #FieldworkFriday

The Stacker and Juniper cameras are in WA so they can spot fires on both sides of the river. Thanks Klickitat PUD for hosting them!

Live feeds will be available soon on ALERTWest.live and the @watchduty.org app.

#FieldworkFriday. Nice looking through pictures from various fieldwork seasons for the talk I did the other day. Had some amazing adventures with great friends and colleagues.

Happy #FieldworkFriday! Our experiment at @TMobilePark has been awesome, but we really want to see the seismic record of an ALCS Game 5 WIN. One more time @Mariners Fans, BRING THE ENERGY! Follow along at mariners.pnsn.org

#fieldworkfriday! Early June was steep hikes in Jasper National Park looking for erratics. The Canadian Rockies are truly astounding. One of my favourite places on the planet, lucky I live pretty close! So many geology questions remain. Also nice to support Jasper after last year’s awful fires. ⚒️🧪🪨

Happy #FieldworkFriday Mariners fans! Cal Raleigh said he could feel the ground shaking in Game 2, so PNSN came to take a closer look! We installed a seismometer right here in T-Mobile Park to record seismic energy during game 5. Seattle, we want to feel this place rocking! #SeizeTheMoment

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network installing a seismometer inside T-Mobile to see if the ground does genuinely shake is an awesome idea actually.

For #FieldworkFriday, some of the benchmarks I've surveyed over the past few weeks. Some are more challenging to use than others, but they're all interesting. #geodesy ⚒️🧪

Happy #FieldworkFriday, and good morning from Mt. Olympus! The field team visited station OSD in Olympic National Park this week to get it back online. This remote site required a helicopter ride to get to, but the effort paid off with a successful visit and beautiful views.

This non #FlintFriday and #FieldworkFriday, I would like to share this mint-fresh Quartzite handaxe from SE India, likely dating back to Middle Pleistocene.

Yes, it hurts to see that broken tip! Still, one of my best find.

I am field-sick, can't wait to go back.
