Meanwhile… silence on the Fed Gov taking equity stakes in foreign and domestic companies, sending military into states under false pretenses, stripping visas for opposing views, and unilaterally bombings ships.🤷‍♂️

DC's violent crime is at a 30 year low, but fine, let's say the goal is truly to reduce crime in DC (it's not), how many additional police officers could you afford with the expense we're incurring to bring the military into that role?

I’ll admit I took sadistic pleasure in watching the Trump/Musk fight unfold. Still, it’s a sad state of affairs. I don’t know if there will be a “winner” but I know the losers will be people that are not billionaires.

NEW: We obtained DHS data that shows the US knew only 32 of the 238 Venezuelans deported to a prison in El Salvador in March were convicted of US crimes, only 6 of those violent. Trump called them “savages,” “monsters” and "the worst of the worst.” www.propublica.org/article/trum...
Trump Administration Knew Vast Majority of Venezuelans Sent to Salvadoran Prison Had Not Been Convicted of U.S. Crimes
Homeland Security records reveal that officials knew that more than half of the 238 deportees were labeled as having no criminal record in the U.S. and had only violated immigration laws.

This morning my wife text me that there was a lot of police activity on her commute. There was no news on Twitter so I checked on Reddit and found a thread discussing the issue. This is the first time I’ve found Twitter to be slower on breaking news.

Admittedly, I often feel Trump makes strategic mistakes that ultimately don’t come back to bite him, but his taking over the Kennedy Center feels like he’s underestimating the power artists, particularly when they feel attacked.
I’m curious to see how the artist community reacts.

I think people looked at Trump’s first term and thought he was “all talk” but it was really that he was inept. He tried to build a border wall and wage a tariff war with China but both were unsuccessful attempts.

I highly recommend rewatching Severance season 1 before the second season starts. I realized I had forgotten key moments or flat out missed them previously. Can’t wait for season 2!

Amazing insight into America’s militia. @propublica.org does it again.
THREAD: In 2023, I received an envelope with no return address. Inside was a flash drive containing tens of 1000s of secret files.

It came from a vigilante with a tumultuous past, who'd conducted a years-long undercover operation. He didn’t tell the FBI or his family. He only told me.

After reading post-election financial predictions, the only constant is nobody believes what Trump says. Even his own Treasury Secretary implies that Trump won’t do what he promised. But if you can’t trust him then you can’t trust him, right? Feels like it’s time to play the contrarian.
