My 7 & 9yo grandsons doing the same. The schoolyards must be buzzing with it. Anti-Americanism is being baked into the next generation.
My parents are doing this too. This has become a thing, particularly with the 70+ crowd, and I am here for it.
My elderly parents are at the supermarket scanning every single product now for where it’s made and refusing any and all US goods. Trump has unleashed something *primal* here, yes.

As governments prepare to approach tariff fallout, compensation of businesses and employees caught out is high on the list. Causality of job or business loss, however, is nearly impossible to assign to a single source. There is a lot of econ turbulence that happens even the best of times, and…

Unlikely to send the 82nd Airbourne? I wouldn’t put it past him. I hope CAF has a counter plan in case of a US occupation in the high arctic

Layer on layer. We can count the number of snowstorms we've had this winter

One month of data does not a trend make, but Muskwagen will be hitting more than just a speed bump this year

Respectfully not a win unless [enter governing party here] can turn the powerful concensus of the past few days into real policy action. Reducing prov barriers, energy to market measures included. Trumpist actions will only get bolder
Kudos to the Prime Minister and his team, the Premiers, Canadian businesses, and Canadians for standing strong. It’s not over by a long shot but take the win. #TeamCanada ❤️🇨🇦

Tariffs are bad enough, but uncertainty is the real killer. A 30-day reprieve isn’t worth much if the threat can be trotted out whenever he has a whim.

Fair. And I plan to keep my Muskwagen in the Garage

Hard enough to predict the ways a Can-US trade war will unfold, even harder to see how it can be walked back. This is a watershed moment for the economy, and Canadians will hold this grudge for a long time.

I followed the same advice there in the ‘70s
I went to Europe when Daddy Bush was president, and everyone in my exchange program class stitched Canadian patches on our backpacks. So this shit has been going on for a while now.

What stops Biden appointing himself to DoJ?
It’s important to note that Judge Cannon blocked the Jack Smith report from going to anyone outside the Justice Department. Which includes President Biden

We don’t yet know what kind of ‘economic force’ will (may) get used. But creating any defensive measures aimed at making this painful to US interests will also create pain here. Whatever-we-have-as-a-govt will need to prepare the public’s backbone for this kind of fight.

…for BREAKFAST!
Leftover apple pie > fresh apple pie.

Of course, the more important scientific finding: more pie is better than less pie.

Aftermath to a relatively quiet Christmas morning. But have maybe gained 5 lbs and it’s not even dinner time. Blessings to everyone out there.

OK folks. I'm calling it a career. Entered the econ profession in the '82 recession and knew never to take things for granted. By good grace and luck I had a long and rewarding run. I appreciated my time with the ConfBoard & CFIB, and the friendships made along the way. Sure to enjoy Blue Skies :)

Thank you to all who have chosen to follow me in the past couple of days. Hope I can make it worthwhile. Hey bots, I think you won't find me as impressionable or as radical as you'd like--nice try masquerading as Jessica Alba.
Will be posting big news tomorrow, so stay tuned!
