"Count your blessings, if I had it my way, you'd be in a frilly pink dress, " he said primly. "And stop acting like you're allergic to pretty things, you've touched me plenty and not burst into flames." "Whatever," Zippy sighed, and held out her hand for the stupid piece of cloth. "Fifty gold pieces sounds pretty fair to me," he sang, jostling the shirt to show off the fluid motion of the fabric. Zippy felt her face heat up, rage mounting at the very offer. "Aerith, you psychopath, as if I would ever give you more of my money!?" "No? Well, I'm going home then." Aerith shoved the garment back into its container and turned on his heel. "We can postpone our date until you find something presentable to cover up... all that." Zippy panicked. She had put too much planning into this plot for it to not even reach phase one. She was already planning on burning an unnecessary amount of money on their date. She closed her eyes and swallowed grimly. It was a small price to pay to break her losing streak. "Wait!" She called out. He stopped in his tracks and slowly looked back at her over his shoulder with a painfully glib expression. Zippy sighed dramatically, and pulled out her wallet.

Zippy shrugged. "Why are you still in bed? I thought you'd be awake busying yourself with swindling more innocent tourists." Aerith sighed. "It's my rest day," he told her. "Did you even sleep last night?" "No," she admitted. Aerith stared at her incredulously. "Are you so obsessed with me that you felt the need to make your horrifying, overtired, ugly self the first thing I witness when I wake up?" The annoyance in his tone hung in the air. "What can I say," she bit out, "inspiration hit." He rolled his eyes. "No thanks, I'm going back to sleep. Walk back to town." Aerith snapped his fingers and the room darkened once again. Zippy watched as he settled back into the centre of his draph sized bed. She took a few steps into the room. She did not walk all the way here in the middle of the night for him to tell her no. "Walk back to town," he repeated, eyes still closed. "Aerith, I'm not doing that. You gave me a key, remember?" She watched his features twitch into one of irritation.

Sam finally spoke from the corner of the room and I jumped, not having realized he was there. He wore plain clothes and was unusually quiet. "Obviously, something that he did in the past.” "And what was that?" Aella's sharp, impatient voice whipped through the room. "I don't know. But I know that Angelique committed war crimes and feels immense guilt. I have killed many, but I am not bothered by it in the least." He shrugged and the hair rose on my arms, on the back of my neck. The way he said it was so nonchalant that I was reminded of who he really was--not an ally, but the Guardian King himself. “And me?" I asked in confusion. "I've--hurt people." Sam snorted. "I suppose you're well-behaved...” Angelique let out a laugh, but it was wiped from her face when I winked at her. I delighted in how she blushed and looked away. "That is correct," I said. "What about the leg breaking?" she asked without looking at me. Sam waved the words away. "That's nothing. They were healed, weren't they?" "He's actually right for once," I pointed out. Sam clapped me so hard on the back it knocked the wind out of me, and I could tell it was on purpose. "Of course I'm right." I rolled my eyes at him as I caught my breath.

Sylin did not have the raw power to wield an axe like Bara or the reach that Cayha and Harin’s blades required, she instead relied on speed and technique. She carried a razor sharp rapierlike sword and she plunged it into the back of a fleeing stranger. They died easily. She moved on to the next one. Her Char-Tesh energy was like a living thing, her second self, seductive and addictive, pushed her on, commanded her movements. She had always been told she was born a natural killer but it was until she was here moving from stranger to stranger with lethal ease that she truly understood her birthright. This is how she was meant to be, this was her place in the world. She had found home.

The blood drained from Aerith's face, a look of pure horror settling nicely on his face. "Zippy, l've spent my whole life growing my hair this long," his eye twitched, his expression slowly contorting into one of icy rage. "If you touch my hair, I will kill you." Aerith lurched forward like a mad dog, practically frothing at the mouth. "Not in the cute way, where you pretend you're going to destroy me, I will bury your body in my fucking garden!" "Well then, you'd better not bite!" Zippy dragged his face forward and buried it between her legs. She bit her lip as she felt her sex press against his tightly pursed lips. She rocked her hips against his face slowly, encouraging him to use his mouth in any capacity. As fun as it was to see him squirm and cry, she was half sure he'd drown if she had to get off like this. She readjusted her grip on his hair, and pushed his head deeper into her. "Aerith, if you don't get to work, we're going to be like this all night." Aerith choked out a few miserable noises, shaking his head vehemently. Zippy let out a small sigh at the gentle friction. "I mean it, princess, do you want me to cut your hair with the knife I use to gut wolves?"

“Please don’t do it” Nahara choked weakly to deaf ears. When the brush touched his skin for the first time Sylin could see a desperate tear come to his eye. He did not cry even as his face was burned and he prepared to die for refusal. It was unnerving. Watching him it finally hit Sylin what was happening. Cayha said they were going to drug them, this paint must be laced with something. She involuntarily looked over at Cayha. He knew what she was thinking even without telepathy and gave her a slow nod.
