I'm slowly getting into my comfort foods being a part of my mindfulness. Tonight was mashed potatoes. Yellow potatoes, skin on, boiled in salt water.
I removed the potatoes and began mashing. I added butter and veggie seasoning. I finished carefully mashing my potatoes to my fave consistency. 💜🥔

Today, January 15th, is Martin Luther King Jr.'s actual birthday, which my family celebrated during my childhood. We got the day off from school to reflect on his legacy with my parents' activist friends.
And we must remember that he was just a person in his own life, not the icon we celebrate.
