I wrote about this in "Our Own Worst Enemy," and used a study of an Italian town in the 1950s as an example of how we're repeating that cycle.

We are in a New McCarthyism but instead of anti-communism we have anti-anti-Zionism, used, once again discredit all efforts for social change.

Time to get on the right side of history.

San Francisco 1967: My older brother used to live next door to the Avalon Ballroom. It was a treasure trove of musical and cultural activity. Super enjoyed visiting him as a kid and seeing the Dead and other artists simply hanging out near the front door. Mickey Hart gave me his drumsticks.

Mozart and Metallica share one thing in common. They both used Zildjian cymbals, Mozart for his symphonies and Lars Ulrich for his drum sets. A fun story for all of us drummers out there (and even if you're not)

Inside Zildjian, a 400-year-old cymbal-making company in Massachusetts
Drummers across the globe know the Zildjian name because it’s emblazoned on every shiny cymbal they make. What’s less known is that the family has been making their famous cymbals, with a secret proce...

For those who are light-weights or never-weights, or like your liver to be in its natural state (alcohol-free).

An alcohol-free drink that’ll make you comfortable enough to spill secrets, smooth out a hard day’s wrinkles and ease yourself into the evening.

It was the end of Summer of '76, the Bicentennial summer, and Boston screamed out of our Camaro and Firebird speakers as school began. It was not just another band out of Boston, it was mind-blowing, genius-level musicianship. They were everywhere, and music was never the same.
Boston’s debut album peaks at #3 on the US charts today in 1976.

“More Than a Feeling,” Tom Scholz said, was “about a fantasy — one that everybody can identify with: .. losing somebody .. important to them .. and music taking them back there.” 🎸

100%. A musical genius. One of my favorite musicians and composers; passed away on Dec. 4th, 1993.

It's December, so it's that time of year. If you get it, you get it. If not, you may be too young.

Pink Floyd changed my life when I was 13, with "Dark Side of the Moon." Summer of '73. I spent hours listening and reading liner notes.

Years later I had a chance to meet David Gilmour backstage at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. I was gobsmacked.

Thanks Rick.
