When you hear the whining about "police injured on duty" in LA today: the people actually listening to the scanners said LASD fired rubber bullets at LAPD so LAPD tear-gassed LASD. The protestors are gonna get blamed for it, but it was entirely self-inflicted.
Many of the LA Sheriffs didn't have their gas masks on yet so the Sheriffs got gassed by LAPD
LAPD was on the radio crying about getting shot by rubber bullets by the sheriffs, so I'd say fair trade

They kettle people so they can’t leave before curfew—it gives them an excuse to “set an example.”
Pretty messed up how they tell you to peacefully protest and that's just fine, but then they box you in and arrest you when you can't leave on time
So if you're trying to get out of downtown LA, the cops have blocked off the main route south on Figueroa near Crypto and LA Live. Take other routes.
