1) I've read Kes Gray's Daisy to more children than I can keep track of, but Daisy is really little N's soulmate.

1) Confusion between letters such as <b> and <d> is not only normal but also a vital stage in most children's literacy development.

However, repetition alone is not enough.

1) Majority of the students I teach have ended up with me after all else failed: extra/remedial classes at school, parents' efforts, tuition classes, ed tech solutions, expensive programs, books and tons of various kinds of carrots and sticks.

Early intervention works. Yes it's because of the critical window. I've been wondering lately though how much it is because of how adults are naturally more patient with younger children, (1/2)
