I teach IT in higher ed and I have been tasked to be the "AI guy" for my faculty, so I think about this topic a lot. Usually very critically.

I don't really mind that Schrader feels that ChatGPT can help him, but how does he feel entitled to say that other filmmakers, who are much better than him, could benefit as well? I would hope directors make movies out of passion.

I read Salman Khan's book Brave New Words. I was not impressed. This was the guy handpicked by OpenAI to try out their tools? He has no understanding of the profession of teaching but he still tries desperately to be an expert on it.

We are being told that generative AI is supposed to be transformative in education but at the same time, I'm only offered tools and methods that aren't that. Or helpful.
