I'm a senior lecturer of IT, used to be an entrepreneur and a software engineer. Here's I'm just going to post about movies I've liked, but also I would rather talk about weird indie films.

He/him, but as a Finn, I don't really care, so any/all is fine.
Okay, so I live in a country with a pretty good educational system. Sure, there's some MAGA folk here, but you can probably count them on your fingers for the whole country, so I don't know any personally.

Besides, if this did come up, I could probably just pass on a link without seeing it myself.

It might be that I was just early enough. I ran in very strange crowds at times, but maybe I had learned my lessons before the advent of widespread video.

I trust certain journalists. I don't have to see these for myself. I'm already broken inside. I don't need to make it worse.

Also, gladly, I live in Finland, so these kinds of killings are not part of our daily lives.

Easy, don't browse Facebook. Even when I used to use it, I only read what friends I trust would share. When that was no longer an option really (since basically everyone with any sense have left), I just stopped.

What are you people doing? I'm 48 and I have been on the Internet for over 30 years. Never seen anyone die on it. I have seen someone die in real life and that was actually sad. Weirdly, not traumatizing, but that's just me.

I liked Send Help, but what I don't like is seeing all those YouTube videos titled SEND HELP in all caps that always alert me before realizing that it's just a review.

I mean, if Kash Patel messed up a Five Eyes meeting, that is a point for them. Now, they need a few billion more to be back at 0.

Weird that in The House of Dynamite, the POTUS would use for his entrance a song that was described by the author like this: "I'm not quite sure what the song is about, but there's a lot of anger, a lot of despair and a lot of frustration."

(In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins)

Once a therapist told me I'm the most adult person she had ever met.

Since I'm bad at taking compliments, I didn't say this out aloud, but I wondered whether that was because of the company she kept.

My poor leftist nonexistent soul shivers at how much my barely existing brain loves this.

Looking around and thinking this really needs some cleaning up, so I better get to it, but instead I'm here looking at bsky.

(Whether the thing that needs cleaning up is my apartment or some government or some other system is up to your imagination, dear reader.)

I mean, I could take some of the sympathy I have for children with cancer or all the people starving around the world, or the people hit by Tesla vehicles because of his negligence or the people injured working in his factories and give it to him, but I won't.

I'm trying to find sympathy for him, but I seem to be right out right now. Sorry.

Had to check the lists to see who this is about and it turns out that there was a Mark Twain book on the Military Leader list at #6.

And I guess this was about Nuzzi?

It is so nice that the Photos app chooses to remind me of memories from the current year. Like that time I needed to take a photo of my friend's Wi-Fi password, because I couldn't read the small print otherwise. Oh, what golden memories I will cherish forever.

As a very white person, I can only say, "Okay. So?"

Also, an addition: Finland (where I'm from) there hasn't been a peacetime death sentence since 1825. Yet, Finland is considered very safe by basically all metrics.

Mathematically, if this really works, why is there that 1-2% for every generation? Weren't they supposed to be weeded out? Why do they still keep reappearing every generation? Well, assuming any of the facts are correct, which you shouldn't.

The only one I can think of is a nature documentary so obscure it doesn't seem to be on IMDb called On Wings of the Raven, which was shot in the forests and archipelago around my home town of Vaasa, Finland.

There must be others, but I just can't think of any.

And yes, I know ChatGPT is not going to destroy the world in the sense they were talking about, but they still seemed to believe it and did it anyway.
November 14, 2025 at 11:26 AM
I would say obviously. I guess nukes could kind of compete, but mostly just as a matter of having some kind of a comparison. But when you say "okay, this might destroy the world, but I might make a few bucks, so I'll try to make a few bucks", I would say ChatGPT wins.

As a teacher, I wonder about this a lot. That day has come and gone for me a long time ago, but to me aging has been (mostly) just positive. At that point I had a good job and I owned an apartment. I was pretty set financially. Can the younger generations experience it in the same way as I did?

I was at a One Battle After Another screening. There was a fire alarm. It took ages before snyone realized it wasn’t just something in the movie. (No actual fire though.) #filmsky

It's hard to say whether this is supposed to be a joke or not, but no, it's not true. Sure, there might be many of them we don't know about, but there's definitely ones who are genuine. I mean, they might be shadowbanned, but there are actual leftists on there and DNC would never pay them.
