WTA fan, UK based. Also likes earl grey tea, cross stitch and quilting. Always trying to read more books and spend less time online
Not often I laugh at the news but after the coverage of the anti-JD Vance protest outside the village where he is staying the presenter ends with 'we tried to find someone with opposing views'. Fair to say his visit has not been well received in this corner of Oxfordshire

Oh Babs, this is horrible. Clearly feels terrible, crying at the back of the court

Just realised I don't really care who wins this match, it is just so lovely to see Emma playing freely and seemingly with joy (perhaps slightly less joy after that tiebreak)

I would always choose to support Iga, but especially today against a you know what supporter. Too many of them on the courts today

If people insist on wearing the same gear, including a hat/visor, can I please get a big ass initial on the screen to identify who is at each end of the court. A bit like you do in gaming

Maybe check on the umpire, perhaps they also need an MTO to get through this match!

oh dear, that looks pretty devastating for Coco. But what a win by Dayana

Fancy design on Coco's dress which I guess is pretty. But if a player has to continually adjust the top then all that design is wasted without the right fit.

Vika out in the first round :(

I'm too old and cranky to tolerate any rudeness about tennis players but there is one exception and he just lost so - yay!

So nice to come home at this time of the year and turn on the telly for a bit of early evening tennis is the sunshine. Just in time for Vika and Elenas matches too

Goodness, I only watch the men play slam finals and I had forgotten how much the commentary sounds like soft porn. The way they speak about the male players is a world apart from how they speak about the women players.

I think I would like future ceremonies to have the players leave the court whilst the stage is set up. Let them have a minute, get a hug if needed or scream into the abyss in private. The winner always leaves to hug their box so make it a thing

I've watched more women cry in womens tennis that I ever wanted to, and it never gets easier no matter who is standing there accepting the runners up trophy

Woah, Justine. She is ageing well, looks very elegant
June 7, 2025 at 4:22 PM
That's lovely, well done Madison. Nice to see her thrive and survive that match. Joyous but obviously devastating for Sabs

It's a beautiful winter morning with blue skies and chilly air. Ideal for this AO womens final that I am enjoying immensely.

A cold night followed by a cold but bright day, ideal for a trip to the Dorset coast to blow away the cobwebs. West Bay in the winter sun.

That made me yelp out loud! You have been warned
Whatever you THINK it's going to be - you're wrong
Picture 10, everyone. You can thank me later.

Winding down by watching Cause of Death on channel 5. I choose references to death, injury and image of bodies as my pre-bedtime relaxation.
