This is Tasmania… there’s no issue!! Jobs for mates are just the way it goes!

Surely one of their rich mates can donate a new bus! A well known property developer gave the Devils football team a mini bus recently. Surely his philanthropic activities could extend further than a tax payer funded football team?

Too true. All those trucks taking out contaminated soil will be enough to cause chaos

It's why politicians like to keep the illiteracy rate of Tasmanians at 50%. No critical thinking, no deep understanding of issues.

Trump all over

Could not agree with you more. Many of the people who passionately fought for this will never afford entry. Just like Dark Mofo the main spenders will not be local.

I fear not. As the rivers are far away and out of sight people forget quickly. This will be in our faces every time we come and go from the city.

Flow on from games/events may give a small boost to business in the area but that means the money won’t be spent in other Hobart businesses… each person/family has a finite amount of disposable income.

Exactly my point… the AFL want people to drink/eat there. Business will not boom for 7 games a year, most likely scheduled on Sunday afternoon.

Just shows what and who is important in our state. Elites win every time. It’s history repeating itself since convict times.

Proved that Rockliff can buy support from those with less integrity. I say Meg Webb, Michael Gaffney, @ruthforrestmlc.bsky.social and Rosemary Armitage are heroes.

And other businesses will suffer. North Hobart is looking sad as business after business is closed or quickly changing hands. There’s only so much money around.
I hear reports of stall holders at Salamanca market reporting huge downturns in sales.
