I write words for money but my feelpinions are free
I’ve thought a lot about what makes people believe in conspiracy theories and in this article, the protagonist just comes right out and says it: “It gave me meaning,” he says of the fires. “It gave my life more of a meaning, being able to fight against something.”

From the man who apparently had credible intel of an imminent threat leading up to Oct 7 accusing others of not keeping Jews safe. Bibi is a liar, war criminal, and opportunist of the first order. May he rot in jail when the time comes.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Years from now, kids will study this photo in history books and say “clearly that old guy was demented, why didn’t anyone say anything?”
incredible photo that's definitely worth at least 1,000 words from Andrew Harnik of Getty

A great day for New York, a city for everyone, except: people who don’t take their backpacks off on the subway, tourists and families who walk down the street in a horizontal line, people who stop in the middle of the street to look at their phones, you guys unfortunately have to go

This clip of the Korean production of Chicago is several years old, but it features Choi Jae-rim, the actor playing Billy Flynn, doing **actual ventriloquism**: youtu.be/kCWBWXyUh2Q?...

The Crash of EgyptAir 990
The sad truth: the crash of EgyptAir 990 caused not by any mechanical failure but by a pilot's intentional act.

This is quite an extraordinary table from Streem showing how many seats each party would have won if their share of seats matched their share of media coverage during the campaign.

You're not imagining it. The Murdoch press et al didn't shut up about Dutton. Lucky no-one was listening. #auspol

Jim Chalmer putting the boot (deservedly) into Angus Taylor. I’m struggling to work out who the Libs are going to put up as Oppo Leader. Surely not Hastie? But like, who else is there? #BinNight #Auspol

The Libs did this during Dan’s final election in VIC, assumed their fantasy about Labor being on the nose was a reality. They were wrong that time, they’re wrong again this time. In the bin you go. #BinNight #Auspol

One of the really special things about Sesame Street was always these little art films that were less about teaching a specific thing than they were about instilling a sort of meditative sense of wonder at how the world works.
Really enjoying this classic Sesame Street segment, two minutes of freestyle jazz riffing on saxophone factory footage
