And our last announcement for today is Ana Rotea (not on bsky?) with One Second Smarter, where an impressionable young mind listens to a clown and that kind of thing NEVER goes well...

My flash fiction, Drawn to Death, has been accepted by Sliced Up Press! It’s going to be part of an anthology called, Saturday Mourning Television. I had so much writing this strange little piece!
Q6: Do you have anything exciting going on outside of #FirstDraftFall - recent or upcoming publications, other exciting projects, etc? Share it here & be sure to post links if you have them!

Whoops! Got distracted.

So far, I’m having fun with these delightful questions! I hope to keep showing up for these chats when I can.

#WeeknightWriters
Q5: What can we in the #WeeknightWriters community do to make the next week of #FirstDraftFall easier for you?
December 5, 2025 at 2:28 AM
Celebrate the small wins and treat myself to homemade Christmas treats. 😋

Q4: What can you do in the next three days to make the next week of #FirstDraftFall easier for yourself? #WeeknightWriters

Ooh, tough one! But it’s such a joy to discover that Arisa, my main character, wants to be a famous fashion designer!

It’s really inspiring to browse for clothes that Arisa would wear or design, whether it’s from my sticker collection or online.

#WeeknightWriters
Q3: Let’s cheer things up a bit! What’s your favourite part of #FirstDraftFall so far? #WeeknightWriters
December 5, 2025 at 1:10 AM
I think the biggest challenge is disguising the major clues in the right areas.
I have to keep telling myself I can always rearrange things later, just so that my inner critic doesn’t get in the way. 😮‍💨

Q2: Are you struggling with anything specific in your #FirstDraftFall project? Tell us about it and we’ll see how we can help! #WeeknightWriters
December 5, 2025 at 12:44 AM
The reverse outline method has really boosted my confidence as a writer!
I feel like I’ve gotten better at spotting plot holes and other issues in my first draft.

#WeeknightWriters
Q1: How are you feeling about your #FirstDraftFall progress so far? Excited? Disheartened? #WeeknightWriters
December 5, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Hello #WeeknightWriters!

I’m Tashi, the weirdo who writes horror, particularly psychological, supernatural, slashers, and sci fi horror.

My goal is to complete an outline for my YA slasher novel by December 31. So far, I got about ten chapters figured out!
Hello #WeeknightWriters! Come on in, introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your #FirstDraftFall project is going!

Next up we have a couple of slow burn stories - first is S.S.N. Smith (not on Bluesky either?) with her story Billy's World, in which a child star's demands start to become too much.

We also have another AJ to announce - A.J. Sharpe (not sure if she's on Bluesky?) - her story Here's One I Made Earlier will have some UK followers nodding their head at the reference, but the BBC wouldn't let this kind of thing go out before the watershed.

Anytime the naysayers express their doubts about my writing dream, I always feel victorious whenever my short stories get accepted and published.

Now to The Horrors.

In his blog post
CREATING PERSONAL MEANING IN A DARK WORLD IS HOW WE TAKE A STAND,
Matt said “finding joy in being a creative person is an act of rebellion.”

Share a creative outlet that brings you joy and/or feels like an act of rebellion.

Gosh, there’s a lot of goals I want to achieve, but honestly, I want to keep writing horror books that I wanted as a teen.
And now that I’m ready to query my YA horror book, I want to make my 16 year old self proud when I find the perfect home for it.
#HorrorWritersChat Q3

This one is going to be hard.

One of the last things Matt asked us at Horror Writers Chat was to share a horror writing related dream.

This can be;
> an actual dream that inspired you.
> a dream you have for your writing career.

Interpret this any way you’d like.

#HorrorWritersChat

I like to think of horror as a safe space where we can explore our fears with our own writing.
And when you write a powerful horror piece that resonates with the readers, it makes them feel seen and heard.
#HorrorWritersChat Q2
This is one of Matt’s favourite questions to ask us:

What does horror mean to you?
December 3, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Hello #HorrorWritersChat!

I’m Tashi and I enjoy writing psychological, supernatural, slashers, and sci-fi horror.

There was a poetry prompt we got to do this year. When I posted mine, Matt’s kind words really boosted my confidence as a writer. I won’t forget that moment. 🥰
#HorrorWritersChat Q1
Thanks for attending our gathering today.

First, introduce yourself & share the horror subgenres you write.

Then, please share a happy memory you have of Matt OR a happy memory of being part of this community he started.

If the feelings are too raw right now, post a candle 🕯️
