The Crescent Nebula tonight. An emission nebula, 5000 light years away, produced when the Wolf-Rayet star in the centre of the image, entered its red supergiant phase, and ejected material equivalent to 5 solar masses. That material is still moving away from the star at a rate of 80km/s. 🔭🧪
