Not every doctor though, and not every one is good at their job/thinks about checking for something else if the diagnosis looks like something obvious.

Exactly! I'm glad the doctor thought of checking it (they also said it was good I came in to get checked).

At least I know the reason now. I've been to the doctor's today and blood test showed that I caught some sneaky bacteria.
On antibiotics now and hopefully that will help soon.

It's not just the US. My nurse co-workers are also fed up with getting minimum money for hard work, bad working hours including night shifts, and no time for their families.
There's already a considerable amount of staff shortages but it's going to be worse in the years to come.

It's mainly the problems with my lungs causing this fear it might be Covid again.
Other than that I don't feel nearly as bad as back then (lungs didn't take any damage, despite having had a nasty cough for months afterwards - had an x-ray to be certain).

Character-wise you would never guess Philly was a stray. But he does not understand domestic behaviour at all. I think he's very confused by me scolding him as well.
