regarding ai, i find it quite simple. if things work out we will look back and say, it all worked out therefore there was no bubble. and if things don't work out we will look back and say, well this was a bubble, obviously. feels like a coin toss to me today.

The BLS employment report can be subject to 'sampling error' - the chance the survey sample doesn't match the characteristics of the total population. The employment survey has a confidence interval of 90%. That means there is a 90% chance the number is on the order of plus or minus 136,000. 1/4

people use "because non-deterministic" excuse to defend their bad ai products. well, it's deterministic enough. you just don't know how to build a good product.

"models are getting better" is another good one...

pretty sure regeneron will do the right thing here and only use 23andme data for its own research. most likely the best possible outcome for 23andme customers in this situation. win for regeneron and win for those that will benefit from therapies this will enable or accelerate.

tbh, tornado cash is a pretty good name for a money laundering business
North Korea laundered more than $450m through the cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash, which has seen >$7b in total laundering since 2019. Today, the Trump administration removed Biden-era sanctions on Tornado Cash. bit.ly/41LBmbo bit.ly/4hqpC3X

as a side note: if you look closely at the numbers that the hotel is showing, indoor is better from the outdoor but "Good" is in fact far from good.

i see this elsewhere too. air quality labels can use vanity scales to make things look better than they really are

I plugged that 2-deoxy-D-ribose hair growth paper findings to chatgpt and used it to generate a protocol for a topical product I can make at home. Probably close to a commercial grade product. Feels like have everything I need to start a cpg company tomorrow. Is this alchemy? Incredible.

Had tacos at a restaurant in hells kitchen. They were literally 2 bites each. Subpar food truck quality. Three for $20. I anticipated the quality but not the size. Hard to believe. The place was packed.
