Surprised I haven't seen this in every post about the "promised vote" on health care premiums.

Who is it that you will keep fighting?
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Totally sucks he got drafted by the Raiders
He’d have been a first round draft pick after his freshman year, it is frankly unfair that we got him for 3

Challenger announced job cuts released early. 153,074 in October, up 175% from Oct 2024, highest for the month since 2003. YTD hiring plans down 35% from last year. Seasonal hiring plans lowest since Challenger began tracking in 2012.

Barrett, a key swing vote, presses Sauer to show where Congress has in the past delegated tariff power to the president, other than perhaps TWEA. He struggles.
November 5, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Trump's IEEPA tariff is not a tax, Solicitor General John Sauer argues. "It's a foreign-facing regulation of international commerce."
Justices don't seem persuaded.
November 5, 2025 at 3:17 PM
That we go into today's SCOTUS hearing assuming Trump already has 3 votes, and wondering how the justices could twist the law in his favor, is not a good thing.
And Bessent coming to sit in the front row is a bit Sopranos-like: Nice court you got here. Too bad if something were to happen to it...

@treasurydept.bsky.social Secretary says the Supreme Court should declare Trump's IEEPA tariff policy legal because... it's one of Trump's "signature policies."
Now, I'm not a lawyer but I don't think that is actually in the Constitution.

Okso, what if a deal to reopen the government is reached and Mike Johnson can't get vacationing House members back to Washington to vote on it because all the flights are canceled because air traffic controllers are staging a sick-out? Can't end the shutdown because of...the shutdown?
November 4, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Basic primer on Trump cabinet interviews these days:
Cut off anyone who starts to lecture on the shutdown being Democrats' fault. We know you think that. There is no news value in allowing a filibuster on that.
Ask if Trump will promise no recission, no impoundment on any budget deal.

I get it, no one would turn down an interview with the president of the United States. But there has to be a point to it.

Hawk's nest: at least 3 #Fed bank presidents opposed this week's rate cut: Hammack and Logan (voters next year) and Schmid (dissented Wednesday). All speaking out today as blackout ends. Bostic, swing voter, supported cut but say now is preferrable to move slower. 10 other FOMC speakers next week.
