Really sad to hear that John Englart has passed away. An absolute veteran of the climate movement, John was one of those people who would always show up no matter how small the action, and was incredibly detailed in his citizen journalism + activism. RIP brunswickvoice.com.au/environment-...

Got to say, I disagree with the Age on this one. Sunday’s protest has every right to continue. My daughter attends that Shul. Arson on a place of worship is act of hatred. But peaceful protest against Israel’s genocide is absolutely justified. www.theage.com.au/politics/vic...
Sunday’s Gaza protest a glaring example of tone-deaf intransigence
Following violent antisemitic incidents in Melbourne on Friday, protest leaders should have cancelled Sunday’s demonstration.

I’m speaking on Darwin ABC morning with Rick Hind at 9:30am EST about examples of civilians investigating police deaths in custody.

The Age needed to fact check this piece before publishing it. Even as an opinion piece - its is got some basic errors.
Canberra’s Gaza comments have contributed to antisemitism in Australia
Misplaced attacks and the constant blaming of Israel for civilian deaths have contributed to an atmosphere permissive of the sharp rise in antisemitism since October 2023.

‘The Age saw a man in a grey hoodie throw Crafti, an anti-Zionist Jew, to the ground as the group blocked him from walking towards the synagogue. Police put Crafti in handcuffs before he was escorted away.’

Appears that the police have arrested the wrong man.

So today we successfully turned a coal ship around, forcing it to abort an entry to Newcastle harbour

And, with 170 arrests and many times that many (incl me) supporting on the water and off, we just pulled off the biggest climate civil disobedience in Australian history

But we did much more
